2. Enter Prior GPA (Optional - Step 2): If you want to see how this semester's grades affect your overall GPA from previous years, enter your prior cumulative GPA and the total credits (or classes) it's based on.
3. Enter Current Grades (Step 3): For each class this semester:
   • Class Name (Optional): Enter the name of the class, like "History" or "Math".
   • Credits: In middle school, most classes have the same weight. If so, you can enter "1" for each class. If some classes are worth more (like an advanced course), you can adjust this.
   • Grade: Select the letter grade you received from the dropdown menu, which will show grades available for your selected scale.

GPA = (Total Quality Points) / (Total Credits)

Here’s how the components are calculated:

• Grade Points: Each letter grade is assigned a point value based on the scale you selected in Step 1.
• Quality Points (per class): This is calculated for each class:
  Grade Points × Credits for that Class
• Total Quality Points & Credits: The calculator sums up the quality points and credits from all your classes.
